Kootenay Lake

Stretching 144 km north from just above Creston BC, this long thin lake draws boaters, fishers and campers to its coves, beaches and crystalline water. The weather here is relatively mild with lengthy hot spells in the summer. In the southern reaches of the lake, orchards funnel fruit to roadside stalls. In winter, heavy snowfall provides solid bases for skiing in the surrounding mountains.

Columbia River

The Columbia River, the second largest river by volume in North America (behind only the mighty Mississippi), has been traveled since the late 1700s. Lewis and Clark mapped it out during their expedition and it became an important trade route in the early 1800s. It is now home to 14 hydroelectric dams and one of the most innovative irrigation systems in the United States. The river forms in the Rocky Mountains of BC and flows south through Washington State before draining into the Pacific Ocean.

Christina Lake

Wakeboarding, waterskiing, a large public beach, lakeside resorts, and secluded cabins all await visitors to Christina Lake. Protected salmon spawning occurs at the north end of the lake. It is situated just east of Grand Forks and north of the world-class golf courses in BC lower mainland.

Slocan Lake

This glacial lake is popular for rainbow and bull trout, kokanee and mountain whitefish. The lake is found directly between Valhalla Provincial Park and Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park.

Kaslo Lake

Kaslo Lake is located approximately 3 km from Kokanee Lake. The lake is open for fishing as well as features a campground with eight tenting sites, an outhouse and water pit.
